Natural dyes and natural fibres form the basis of my intricate woven textiles. Functional or decorative cloths, they are inspired by the colours, textures and patterns I experience during my travels. Through weave I have found a way to capture and communicate my emotional responses to the sense of place I see, hear and touch.
My creative approach is complemented by my background in finance and my training in mathematics. This equipped me to deal with the complex technicalities, structure and order that is required for weaving. My work is a balance between this logical way of thinking and the creative, organic and experimental approach I have taken to dyeing.
